No I have not been on holiday

I have been working to try and save Kingsteignton being covered in concrete, so I had to show you this poor cow who wondered off and found her self deep in a bog, in fact up to her neck, and when you think about it that could have been a child, and we would have never been able to save.

This whole area of Kingsteignton is covered in large and very deep holes which have been left from clay extraction. This area will take 140 houses and a road which will have to be raised due to the large areas of holes.

In this picture you will see the fire fighters on a float, not safe to take a chance a life could be lost.

I have been called to a house a small distance from this picture where the water is now at the bottom of their garden, and at the time of writing it is pouring down, so much for the holiday weekend.

I do hope that September will be dry and sunny, like an Indian summer, as the charity show for the Army Benevolent Fund,  this will be on the 25th/26 September and I hope a lot of people will attend, the last one on the 14-15, the first show H4H on the Saturday was a washout and the Sunday was hot and sun out, but we found that people would even climb a fence just so not to pay, I will leave you to judge them, but that is money that would have gone to injured service personal.

Yester-year

I have just been reading about a young man who has a special kind of courage, he has both legs off plus he is blind, that takes a big swallow on a Sunday morning, and no he is not crying in his beer oh no quite the opposite, quite resolute in getting back his independence, he has a baby son and a caring wife, this is not unusual, but it does bring home when you look at the young people who roam our street and think it is good fun to kill, dear god who are the parents of these thugs.
Think what I have just said about the first young man and these morons, I think it is time that the parents should be named and shamed, that is if they are around.
What these young service men and women have is looking out for other members of their team, and going to the aid of others even if their own life will be put in danger, that ladies and gentlemen is quality of life.
Talking about being blind in service of ones country, I can remember as child putting pennies in the box for the St Dunstan, and the pictures of men returning from war with a bandage over their eyes, and holding onto some ones arm, I think we should bring back this picture to bring home this loss.

There is a lot of talk about prisons and the number of people in jail, there are a lot who should not be in there, yes they may have committed a crime, but if you look closely you will so some one who need to be cared for in a mental care home, why have we not built special homes in a confined area, where staff could care and give help and medicine, these people forget to take their tablets or they feel better and stop, this is where the problems start.  I am not talking about the old institution's

Oh yes one thing this week service man has had an amputation and the other leg will have to come off in the near future, has had his disability money stoped, as he has said he can walk 400m, that money allowed him to get out and do other things, you just think of the man who has thousands of pounds with all his children and wife, and not working, I say take that money and give it to our own service personal who have served this country with Honor
