Why do I say this, well they have given their lives for their country, Most have injuries that will be with them for the rest of their lives.War is not a game of toy soldiers, how do we care, by charities set up and raising monies so that care can be given.
We also care for the families of service men and women.
The Army Benevolent Fund was set up at the end of the Second World War
As the Soldiers’ Charity, we provide vital financial help to the heartbroken families of those lost and the hundreds of soldiers who have suffered psychological and physical injuries whilst serving our country.
The Army Benevolent Fund works with fellow charities these include SSAFA, Royal British Legion Army Families Federation, the British Limbless Ex-Service Men’s Association, Combat Stress and the “Not Forgotten Association.
Wars that our troops have been involved in include Korea, Egypt, Malaya, Borneo, Falkland, Iraq, Northern Ireland and to the present time of Iraq and Afghanistan.
I with a group of people we are fundraising for the ABF charity and the Help for Heroes,
These events will take place in August and September.
The first one is held at Old Forde House on the 14-15 August, other charities will be at this show, the theme is the Classic Cars.
